Baseball & Softball Site Supervisors- Summer

Wheatland Athletic Association is looking for dependable and friendly Site Supervisors to support our summer recreational baseball and softball programs. This is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy sports and want to be part of a positive, team-oriented community.

Responsibilities Include:

• Assist with field set-up as needed
• Provide support to volunteer coaches and parents by answering questions and offering directions
• Communicate with WAA office staff to relay updates and/or report issues
• Ensure a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all participants and families
• Provide general customer service on-site

Requirements:

•  Must be at least 16 years old
  

• Interest in sports and a willingness to learn about recreational leagues

Schedule (may vary depending on field assignments)

•  Weeknights: Monday–Thursday, 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM

• Saturdays: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Athletic Field Maintenance - Summer Seasonal

Salary & Hours:

• $15 per hour
• Week days - 24 to 40 hours per week May thru August.
• Typical shift is 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (may vary slightly at times).
• Occasional weekend events and over-time opportunities.
  

Responsibilities: Maintain WAA athletic fields to high standards of safety, cleanliness, and playability. Responsibilities include operating machinery (pickup truck, tractor, mower, etc.), grooming infields, chalking/painting field lines, landscaping, and general site upkeep. Assist with WAA programs and follow all safety guidelines.

Qualifications & Requirement: Must be at least 18 with a valid driver’s license, reliability, and good communication skills. Experience with machinery and field maintenance is preferred, but training is provided. Requires lifting up to 50 lbs., walking long distances, and working outdoors in various weather conditions. Flexible hours, including some weekends and overtime, are required. WAA is an at-will employer.

WAA Training Center/Sports Center Attendant - Part-time

Part Time Training Center/Sports Center Attendant

Hours: Flexible, weekdays 3:45pm to 10pm, Saturdays and Sundays varies depending on shift, 8am to 10pm
Salary: $15.00 hr.

Qualifications: Must be a responsible and reliable person age 18 or older; some college coursework preferred in the area of sports management. Athletic experience in baseball/softball/soccer or other athletic experience preferred Requires strong people and customer service skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with staff and the public. Possess general office skills, good phone etiquette and computer skills. Attention to detail, accuracy and dependability required. Ability to maintain discretion with regard to confidential matters and/or information. Must be able to project professional appearance, have valid driver’s license and provide own transportation.

Duties: Under the direction and supervision of the Facility Manager, the Training Center/Sports Attendant will provide customer service to the guest of the Training Center or Sports Center as well as be responsible for general facility housekeeping task. Scheduling of teams and individuals in the facility along with set up will be required.

Recreational Soccer Referees

Games are on Saturday’s. Spring 2025 games are on April 5, 12, 19, 26 May 3,10,17
Games last no more than 60 minutes.
Sessions are held back to back, with flexibility to choose which hours work for you
All fields are in the Naperville/Aurora area - i.e. McCarty Elementary, Still MS, White Eagle 
Pay rate will vary with experience and number of assigned games.  Center Referee rate is $30/game.   
Applicants must be at least 16 years of age by April 5th, 2025, or 14 and obtain a work permit by April 5th, 2025

Basketball Site - Gym Supervisor

Location: Various Elementary and Middle School gyms in IPSD 204, OCSD 308
Hours: Saturdays, 8:30am to 6pm – some site times vary depending on gym scheduling
Begins Saturday, November 1st end Saturday, March 14th 
Salary: $15.00 per hr.

Qualifications: Must be a responsible and reliable person age 18 or older. Athletic experience in basketball/baseball/softball/soccer or other athletic experience preferred but not required. Requires strong people and customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with staff and the public. Possess general office skills, good phone etiquette and computer skills. Attention to detail, accuracy and dependability required. Ability to maintain discretion with regard to confidential matters and/or information. Must be able to project professional appearance, have valid driver’s license and provide own transportation.

Duties:  Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Fields and Facilities, the Basketball Site/Gym Supervisor will provide customer service to the guest of the gym facilities. Be responsible for facility security and general housekeeping task. Together with the Basketball Director ensure basketball officials are present and gym is set up for games.

Basketball Referee 

 Job Description :

• Must be 16 yrs or older. 
• Certification a plus.
• Season begins in November
• Scrimmages or games are one hour long and start as early as 8:00 AM on Saturdays.   
  
• Referees select their games using the Horizon Web Ref website
• OFFICIAL FINDERS is the Basketball Referee Provider for WAA

Referee will be working with children in grades K – 12. Referees are expected to officiate the game and instruct players on the rules of the game as necessary. Each referee is responsible for maintaining uniform, picking up and/or dropping off equipment at the WAA office and reporting any problems with games/coaches to the referee coordinator.

     Summer Intern to help coordinate and run All Star Games, Special Events and Programs (minimum age 17)
     Inventory and storage room maintenance. (minimum age 16)

Additional requirements include the ability to climb stairs, small ladders and lift boxes and sports equipment.  Summer Intern position requires employee to drive to various locations.
