Program Updates

WAA is a 43 year old non-profit organization.  This is new territory for WAA, as it is for all of us.  Thank you for registering for WAA summer baseball.  Our hope is to get our leagues and programs running with a delayed start date.  As we receive factual guidance from the authorities, we will update the website and email participants.  If we are unable to run our program, we will most likely offer options for future credits or refunds.  People that are requesting refunds prior to determination of the season dates can receive a refund consistent with the refund policy as stated in the registration.

About Majors Baseball

Majors Baseball is a competitive baseball program for 11 and 12 year old players (age as of May 1, 2020) who are looking for increased competition over what recreational baseball provides, but without the increased commitment that travel baseball requires.  Highly competitive players are encouraged to play up one year but must both meet the age requirement within 12 months of May 1st (ie. 10 years old by May 1, 2020) of the upcoming year and score within the top 50% of tryout participants to be considered for the draft pool.

Teams will be led by volunteer coaches dedicated to helping players improve their skills while abiding by WAA’s Code of Conduct.  Although competitive, a continued emphasis is placed on the fundamentals of the game within a framework of teamwork, competition, and sportsmanship over a 14-game regular season and minimum 3 game postseason.  Players pitch the entire game and regulation baseballs are used.

For further details in reference to the rules, please see the Majors Rules page .  Rules continue to be evaluated for the 2020 season and may change slightly.  Players must provide their own glove, cleats (molded only) and pants. WAA will provide balls, batting helmets, catcher gear, and bases for each team.  A MLB team jersey, MLB team hat and socks are included with the registration fee.

All players – including returning players – will be required to tryout and must meet a minimum draft score to be eligible to be drafted or return to the same team. This change has been made to insure the integrity of the draft process and ensure the right skilled players are in the league.

Competitive coaches interested in being considered for a role must apply. Competitive coaches must apply2020 Coaching application
