2024 Fall Team Chicago Juniors Recreational Soccer

Team Chicago Juniors Fall Outdoor Recreational Soccer for 1st through 8th grade and Kindergarten

Register with WAA for more games and the Head Coach's child plays for FREE*!

WAA Team Chicago Juniors is the BEST recreational soccer program in the area!

1st - 8th Grade Soccer
Games on Saturdays, September 7 through October 26th.

  • Fall outdoor recreational soccer league for 1st through 8th grade. 
  • All skill levels are invited to participate. 
  • An 8-game season plays on Saturdays with one practice per week scheduled by the coach.
  • Teams are coached by parent volunteers - Head Coach child plays for free! 
  • WAA provides officiating for all Saturday games.
  • Coach and team mate requests are accepted in the registration.
  • Divisions may be combined to accommodate registrations.

Kindergarten Soccer
Program on Saturdays, September 7th through October 12th. 

  • Fall outdoor recreational soccer league for Kindergarten.
  • All skill levels are invited to participate. 
  • A 6-game season plays on Saturdays with Trainer led practice session and games.
  • Teams are coached by parent volunteers.  
  • WAA provides skills training and a Team Chicago trainer to work with teams and coaches each Saturday.
  • Coach and team mate requests are accepted in the registration.

Program Information

Outdoor Recreational Soccer (K-8th Grade) - Team Chicago Juniors! 

The Wheatland Athletic Association (WAA) runs outdoor fall and spring recreational soccer leagues for youth K through 8th grade. The emphasis of the program is for participants to have fun learning the basic skills and rules of the game of soccer. Leagues are held outdoors on local fields in the fall and spring seasons. Registration is open to all experience and skill levels. The Kindergarten program is trainer led with co-ed teams. Teams for 1st - 8th grade have separate leagues for boys and girls, however dependent on numbers, divisions may be merged. WAA is a volunteer non-profit organization and all recreational coaches are volunteer. PLEASE consider volunteering!  Special discounts for our valuable volunteer HEAD COACHES! 

 
                                                

Special Requests

Remember: Special requests for team placement will be considered carefully, but there is NO GUARANTEE they will be honored.  For requests to be considered, the registration should be submitted as early as possible.  Requests are considered on a first come, first serve priority.  Each participant is limited to two requests (eg, friend, coach) per registration.   WAA tries to place children based on special requests, neighborhood and school.   However, we also have to make balanced teams and and are limited by the number of volunteer head coaches.  Please spell names of requested players/coaches correctly.

Equipment, Rules & Directions

    Equipment

    • WAA Soccer Kit - $30 Kit contains yellow shirt, green shirt, black shorts and soccer socks.  WAA Soccer Kits are available at the WAA Sports Center, 2323 Liberty St. Aurora, IL. Sizes are: Youth S-M-L and Adult S-M-L
    •  Shin guards and socks to cover the shin guards - Any color sock is allowed.
    •  Soccer Ball - Grades K-2 use size 3 ball, Grades 3-5 use size 4 ball, Grades 6-7-8 use size 5 ball.
    •  White or Black athletic shorts (no pockets or belt loops), Gym shoes or outdoor soccer cleats (no metal cleats allowed).

Volunteer Opportunities

WAA is a volunteer non-profit organization and depends upon parents to volunteer as coaches in all of our sports.  Please consider volunteering as a head or assistant coach for your child's team.  Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older. 

  • Head Coach responsibilities include attending coach meeting, contacting player families, scheduling and running team practices and coaching at league games.  Coaches may ask for participant parent assistance as needed. 

  • Assistant Coach is responsible for helping the Head Coach with all of the above, and takes over for the Head Coach when needed
