Basketball for Kids - Leagues, Training and Camps

PROGRAM INFORMATION

The emphasis of the WAA basketball program is to teach boys and girls in grades K-12 the fundamentals of basketball and enhance the skills of the more experienced players.  The programs encourage development in both individual and team skills, in an atmosphere of fun and good sportsmanship.

OFFERED PROGRAMS

Recreational

WAA's Recreational Basketball program runs during the late Fall/early winter months (Nov-Mar) for children in Kindergarten through High School. There are separate leagues for boys and girls in 1st - High School grades. The indoor program consists of 1 game and 1 practice per week for an 8 game season beginning in November (session 1) or mid-Jan. (session 2). Games are played on Saturdays at a District 204 school or other local gyms. Practice location/time/day are selected by the team head coach. Kindergarten does NOT have a separate practice. The Kindergarten Saturday sessions are a combined practice/clinic/mini-game format.
