Volunteer Opportunities

WAA is a volunteer non-profit organization and depends upon parents to volunteer as coaches in all of our sports.  Please consider volunteering as a head or assistant coach for your child's team.  Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Head Coach responsibilities include attending coach meeting, contacting player families, scheduling and running team practices and coaching at league games.  Coaches may ask for participant parent assistance as needed.

  • Assistant Coach is responsible for helping the Head Coach with all of the above, and takes over for the Head Coach when needed.

Special Requests

Remember: Special requests for team placement will be considered carefully, but there is NO GUARANTEE they will be honored.  For requests to be considered, the registration should submitted as early as possible.  Requests are considered on a first come, first serve priority.  Each participant is limited to two requests (eg, friend, coach) per registration.   WAA tries to place children based on special requests, neighborhood and school.   However, we also have to make balanced teams and and are limited by the number of volunteer head coaches.  Please spell names of requested players/coaches correctly.
