WAA Announces 2025 Expansion Project!

THE WHEATLAND ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION IS EXPANDING!

We are thrilled to announce the start of our WAA Expansion Project at 2323 Liberty Street! Beginning in April 2025, WAA will embark on it's biggest project in it's 50 year history! The project will include:

The building of a 14,000 square foot indoor Training Center. The Center will be adjacent to our current Sports Center and home of the WAA Ducks Baseball and WAA Spikes Softball teams. The facility will include 8 baseball/softball cages and a dedicated workout area for WAA athletes.
An outdoor TURF field that will be located on the south area of our property. The field will be fully lighted and home of our Team Chicago Soccer Club.
A new parking lot that will enhance convenience and safety for our families and athletes.

WAA has a long history of successful athletic capital projects. In 2014, WAA acquired the building at 2323 Liberty Street and completed a full renovation in 2015. As a longtime partner of both the Naperville Park District and the Fox Valley Park District, WAA has funded ball fields, soccer fields and parking lots for community usage. WAA has developed ball fields and holds long-term agreements for usage at Wheatland Salem Church and Gregory Middle School in Naperville, Illinois, two ballfields at Crossroads Community Church in Aurora, Illinois and soccer fields at Springbrook Community Church in Plainfield. In addition, WAA owns and developed the seven acres of athletic fields adjacent to 2323 Liberty Street Sports Center, including parking lots and field lights. Our current Baseball and Softball Training Center, at 657 Wolverine Drive in Aurora, was originally leased and built out in 2012 and has been the home of WAA’s baseball and softball training center for 12 years.
