Tier 2! Let's Play!

On January 18, 2021, the Illinois Department of Public Health announced adjustments to the mitigation metrics and regional mitigation changes. Effective immediately, Region 8 moved to Tier 2 mitigations. WAA facilities and our main office is located in DuPage County, Region 8.

Tier 2 COVID Protocols:

Youth and Adult Sports Programs follow the:
Restore Illinois Winter Update to the All Sport Guidelines.

In Tier 2, the following Levels of Play are allowed.  
Please refer to the Guidelines for details
:

  • Baseball – Lower Risk – Team practices and scrimmages allowed as well as competitive play within defined regions
  • Softball – Lower Risk –Team practices and scrimmages allowed as well as competitive play within defined regions
  • Soccer – Moderate Risk -Team practices and Intra-team/pod scrimmages allowed
  • Basketball – Higher Risk -Only no contact practices and training allowed

Players that do not feel comfortable with practicing or players that are quarantining should connect with the team coach for team updates and workout suggestions.

ALL COVID 19 protocols remain in effect for participants, coaches and parents.

  • Face coverings are to be worn at all times, in all indoor facilities
  • Do not attend if not feeling well or if you have had any contact with a person that tested positive for COVID 19
  • Maintain 6 foot social distance when possible
  • Keep teams/groups static
  • No spectators

Please adhere to facility signage, pick up and drop off procedures

WAA Sports Center-Drop off at main entrance and pick up at south parking lot. Inside the building, please follow posted signs. Entry ONLY through main entrance, Exit ONLY through the South exit. No spectators are allowed.

WAA Training Center -Training Center doors will be locked for entry during team training. Coaches and players are allowed to enter the facility NO EARLIER THAN 5 MINUTES PROIR TO SCHEDULED TIME. Follow signs and maintain social distance. No spectators are allowed.

WAA Sports Status Update:

  • All WAA travel sports are practicing at this time.
  • Spikes Pitching & Catching can resume with registration and limited availability
  • WAA Recreational Soccer programs will restart this week
  • WAA Adult Soccer programs will restart this week
  • WAA Camps and Clinics will restart this week
  • WAA Facilities (Sports Center and Training Center) are OPEN for rent
  • WAA Recreational Basketball is TBD based upon facility availability
  • WAA Spring & Summer programs are OPEN -EARLY BIRD PRICING is good through JANUARY!

COVID Update:

No additional COVID 19 cases have been reported to WAA at this time.

Spring is Coming!

WAA Spring and Summer Recreational Sports and Camps are open for registration. This includes Spring Outdoor Soccer, Feet First Soccer, Competitive Baseball Tryouts, Summer Baseball and Softball! Our recreational sports are the building blocks of our travel programs. Please consider forwarding our recreational sport emails and information to friends and neighbors that are looking for recreational leagues for their family!

What Comes Next:

WAA staff monitors State guidance and updates on a daily basis. Decisions on program activity is the responsibility of the WAA Board of Directors. The Board considers all current guidance, staff input and input from WAA sport directors, coaches and parents. Additional information will be sent weekly or as necessary.

WAA utilizes our facilities, the WAA Sports Center and Training Center, and facilities rented from other organizations, park districts and school districts. Many of our typical partners (Naperville Park District, Fox Valley Park District, Indian Prairie, Oswego and Naperville School Districts) are not renting facilities at this time. WAA is working to secure other indoor facilities for our sports activities.
