The Wheatland Ducks, WAA and our Directors and Staff, congratulate Nick Solak on his call up to the big leagues today!

The Texas Rangers have called up second baseman/outfielder Nick Solak to make his major league debut today against the Los Angeles Angels.
Solak, 24, was acquired in a trade that sent reliever Pete Fairbanks to the Tampa Bay Rays.
After being acquired, Solak was transferred to Triple-A Nashville where he's been tearing the cover off the ball. In 30 games with the Sounds, he's hitting .347 with 10 home runs and 27 RBI.
Solak is a former second-round pick out of Louisville. He's the Rangers No. 10 ranked prospect according to MLB Pipeline.
This is what MLB Pipeline wrote about Solak's offensive abilities:
"A pure hitter, Solak makes repeated line-drive contact with a quick right-handed swing and a hit-to-all-fields approach. He manages the strike zone well and consistently puts together good at-bats, employing a selectively aggressive approach that fuels his ability to hit for average and also get on base at a high clip. He has shown more power in the last two seasons and could hit 15 or more annually as an everyday player in the big leagues, and his solid speed and instincts make him a threat to steal."
