Soccer Programs

For over 40 years, the Wheatland Athletic Association (WAA) has offered outdoor fall and spring recreational soccer leagues for players in Kindergarten through 8th grade. Open to all skill levels, the program focuses on building fundamentals, teamwork, and a love for the game in a fun, positive environment. Kindergarten is a co-ed, beginner-friendly division for 5–6 year olds, while 1st–8th grade teams are organized into separate boys and girls leagues. Divisions may be combined based on registration numbers to create the best experience for players. Leagues are played on local outdoor fields and led by dedicated volunteer coaches, with additional training opportunities available for both players and coaches throughout the season. All WAA Indoor Soccer Leagues are played on our state-of-the-art indoor turf field featuring sand infill, providing a high-quality playing environment for athletes throughout the season. WAA Indoor Soccer Leagues offer co-ed recreational soccer opportunities for players in Kindergarten through 8th grade. Games are held on Saturdays, with two sessions running from early November through mid-March. Our fast-paced weekly league format is designed to keep players engaged while developing their soccer skills, teamwork, and love for the game. Pro Academy Training is designed for motivated soccer players ages 5–10 who are looking for a more challenging and advanced training environment. This program provides athletes with the opportunity to continue developing their skills, building confidence, and preparing for the next level of play. Offered in partnership with Team Chicago Soccer Club professional coaches, Pro Academy focuses on skill development, technical training, game understanding, and player growth while serving as a bridge between recreational and travel soccer. Team Chicago Soccer Club is the elite competitive soccer program within Wheatland Athletic Association (WAA). Team Chicago offers girls and boys travel soccer teams for athletes ages U7 through U19, providing players with opportunities to compete, develop, and grow within the sport. With a focus on player development, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence, Team Chicago teams have achieved continued success at the state, regional, and national levels. Skills Development Programs are designed for recreational players looking to improve their soccer skills, build confidence, and continue developing their understanding of the game. Throughout the year, WAA offers a variety of player development opportunities, including indoor and outdoor camps, skills training sessions, and tournaments to provide players with additional opportunities to learn, compete, and enjoy the sport. The WAA Adult Soccer Program offers a variety of recreational indoor and outdoor soccer leagues, tournaments, and programs for adult players of all experience levels. All programs are age-based and open to men and women looking to stay active, compete, and enjoy the game. The WAA Sports Center provides multiple options for team and individual league registration, making it easy for players to find the right program fit. The Half Century Club, an affiliate of WAA, provides additional opportunities for adult players to participate in organized soccer at local fields and at the WAA Sports Center. More Information
