Indoor Recreational Soccer is a FUN! program in which players meet once a week to work with a trainer and to engage in a lively, fast-paced soccer game. Games are held on week-days.

Program Description

The Wheatland Athletic Association Indoor Soccer is a CO-ED recreational program for pre-kindergarten through 9th grade.

There are three sessions with one game played each week running from November through early April.  Players may register for one, two or three sessions.  No games played during the weeks of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year holidays.

Pre-Kindergarten - Kindergarten is open to 4-6 year olds attending preschool or kindergarten in September 2014. The player must be 4 years old by the start of the session date to qualify. The class time will remain the same each week once a player is signed up. The trainer will help children develop coordination and soccer skills through games and activities taught in a playful manner. There may be some scrimmages included as the season progresses. There are no parent coaches, but WAA asks for parent volunteers to help with substitution and sideline management.  Parents may be asked to take turns if no one volunteers. 2 teams per time slot with approximately 8-10 players per team. Beginning Kindergarten players are encouraged to sign up for this program.

Kindergarten - 1st grade after school sessions will include skill development followed by a shortened game format with two halves, 5 v 5 format with a goalie. This program is on the small indoor field.  The game times will remain the same each week once a player is signed up. There are no parent coaches, but WAA asks for parent volunteers to help with substitution and sideline management.  Parents may be asked to take turns if no one volunteers. 2 teams per time slot with approximately 8 players per team. More advanced Kindergarten players may sign up for this program.
