This is a CO-ED program for all grade levels. The
Recreation Indoor Soccer season is divided into three
groups: 1st thru 8th grades,
Kindergarten & Pre-School. The games are played on one
or more assigned days of the week from Monday through
Friday, dependent on volume of registration. Sessions
are eight-weeks long, with one game played per week. Due
to limited facility usage, there are NO PRACTICES. Game
times for 1st
thru 8th grades alternate between 4:20 PM,
5:10 PM and 6:00 PM. Kindergarten and Preschool will
play morning and afternoon time slots with Kindergarten
having an opportunity to choose after school as well.
Morning times alternate 9:30 AM and 10:20 AM; Afternoon
times alternate 1:00 PM and 1:50 PM. On the registration
form, please mark which session is best for you! Of
course, you are welcome to play in all three sessions!
Some sessions fill up very quickly, often BEFORE the
registration deadline. We recommend registering
for all sessions you are interested in at your earliest
convenience to avoid disappointment.
The games are 8V8 on the large field (2nd
through 8th) and 5V5 on the small field
(Preschool, Kindergarten and 1st). There will
be a referee provided for all games with the exception
of preschool and kindergarten. For Preschool and
Kindergarten, we provide a trainer each week to help the
player learn and develop. For 1st Grade, a trainer
is provided for the first two weeks of each session,
with games being played for the remaining 6 weeks.
For grades 2nd-8th, the first 10 minutes of the first 2
weeks, the coaches are welcome to use for instruction
and practice and may be on the field. After the
this period, they are asked to stay in the area assigned
to their team behind the gate.
NEW
SKILLS DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITY FOR 2nd - 8th GRADE!
This program will be offered on Monday or Wednesday
after school. Anyone signing up for this program
can choose which day they prefer. The times
offered are Monday at 4:20 PM or 5:10 PM; Wednesday at
5:10 PM or 6:00 PM. The
participant will remain in the same time slot for the
entire session. Each session is 4 weeks long.
The program is designed for Recreational players that
want to enhance their soccer skills. The player
can sign up for one session or as many as they would
like. Time slots will be filled on a
first-come, first-serve basis. There is a minimum
of 8 and maximum of 15 players needed for each time.
Please check the form for further details.
We are
always in need of greatly appreciated volunteer
coaches and offer a discount to anyone that is able to
offer their time. Responsibilities include picking up
the rosters, schedules, letters; calling the
participants on the roster; letting them know when their
first game is, and making sure they are aware of what is
needed to play in the game (it is listed on the back of
the registration form); showing up to coach the game;
and passing out the information to each player. Good
sportsmanship is a MUST. Coaches are expected to
be respectful to all players, opposing coaches,
referees, and other parents.
Games are
played at PlayUSA, 2323 Liberty Street, Aurora,
IL. The facility is located one block north of New
York Street and 1/2 mile west of Eola Road on the south
side of Liberty Street.
All players
are required to wear the WAA reversible green/yellow
shirt available at Boomers T's, Soccer Post, Chicago
T-Shirt Authority. No slip-on shoes.
All players must wear shin guards and non-marking, flat
bottomed gym shoes or indoor soccer shoes.
We do not
encourage medals or trophies. If you feel the need
to offer these personally to your team, please do so in
a private setting.
Registration forms come out to the schools in September,
can be downloaded off the website, faxed, or picked up
at the WAA office during our regular office hours. The
forms can be mailed, or dropped off directly. Each
session has its own deadline. Please check the
form for further details.
For
Preschool and Kindergarten, parents are expected to
remain in the facility. This program is not
designed to be a child care setting where the children
are left. The trainer is here for improving soccer
skills, not to serve as a child care provider.
Thank you for your understanding.
This is a
reminder that NO ONE is permitted on the field unless it
is there regular scheduled time. If fields are not being
used, other family members are not allowed to be on the
fields for insurance purposes. Thank you.
