Competition Weeks and Team Standings

3rd – 12th grade only

Competition Week Schedule:
Session 2 Competition Weeks Schedule

The last two weeks of each session are “Competition Weeks”. Competition Weeks are aimed to provide additional excitement and FAIR COMPETITION for the program participants. To the extent possible, the teams with better records will play one another, while teams that don't have as many wins will play one another during those last two weeks (that’s also why the schedule for the last two weeks contains “TBD”). For additional information on “Competition Weeks” please see the Rule Book, Section 2.2.

Team Standings - 3rd through 12th grade only:
After games each week, coaches of the winning team are to notify WAA of their win using the following email account –

  • Scores are not to be supplied and have no bearing on the scheduling or seeding for the Competition Weeks scheduling.
  • When reporting wins, include your team number/name.
  • Games without reported wins will not be factored into the standings.
  • WAA staff will keep track of the standings.
  • After completion of the final games before Competition Week, revised schedules will be sent out for the remaining games (those currently labeled as TBD on the schedule).

For more information please contact the WAA office at 630-978-2855.

The primary emphasis of the program is to teach basic skills to all players and enhance the skills of the more experienced players. The program encourages player creativity in the development of both individual and team skills. WAA’s goal is to create an atmosphere of fun and good sportsmanship for all players. Emphasis on only winning is not the purpose of our program.  All players participate equally. Coaches clinics are offered for both sessions. League Play will be split into 2 sessions. At this time, all age groups except 7th/8th grade girls and High School Boys will have the opportunity to play both sessions.

The games are scheduled to be played on Saturdays at a District 204 or area school.  Practices are held during the week in the evening at local area facilities. Head coaches will schedule practices at the beginning of the season and communicate to team. K-2nd grade play with 8 foot hoop height, 3rd grade play on 9 foot hoop, and 4th grade – HS use 10 foot hoop height.
