Program Information

13 – 14 yr. olds (age as of May 1, 2019)

Registration Closed for Summer 2018

Notification of scheduled tryout time will be sent by email and posted on the web approximately one week in advance of tryouts.
All players must Tryout.

This a competitive baseball program for competitive players 13 and 14 years of age. A player must be within the age range on or before May 1, 2018 to tryout for this division. WAA is a volunteer organization. Volunteer coaches are needed. Competitive coaches must apply: Coaching application 2019

Teams are organized using a tryout and draft process.  Players may return to the same team within a division if they meet the age requirement.  Players moving up a division must tryout.  All players MUST be pre-registered prior to tryouts.  Drafted players and returning players will have 48 hours to complete payment and program registration once they are notified.  Players not drafted will be notified and have the opportunity to register, at the early bird price (for a limited time), for the recreational baseball league if they meet the age requirement.

Although the league is competitive, a continued emphasis is placed on the fundamentals of the game as players are instructed on the basics of hitting, throwing, catching and base running within a framework of teamwork and sportsmanship. Players pitch the entire game and regulation baseballs are used.

Players must provide their own glove, cleats (no metal) and white pants. WAA will provide  balls, batting helmets, catcher gear, and bases for each team.  Shirt, hat and socks are included with the registration fee.

New in 2018, the Pony league teams will play in the newly formed "Tri-Town League" with Naperville Pony and Plainfield Pony teams.  Each team will play approximately 19 league games and participate in an end of season tournament in late June.  A Pony All-Star game is also scheduled.  Fields will be in Aurora, Naperville and Plainfield. WAA teams will practice on local fields.  Games begin in mid-April (weather permitting) and are scheduled to end in late June. Pony league times may vary based upon Tri-Town scheduling.

For further details, please reference the  2018 ponies rules.pdf  (pending updates per Tri-Town league agreement).

All participants must register for tryouts.
Notification of scheduled tryout time will be sent by email and posted on the web approximately one week in advance of tryouts.

Eligible returning players will be guaranteed a roster position on their team if they
a)pre-register, b)attend tryouts, and c)are eligible to return to the same team and division as last year.
