District 204 Middle School Soccer Run by WAA

Did you know that Wheatland Athletic Association has been the administrator for the IPSD 204 middle school soccer program since 2012? WAA stepped in to run the program when the school district cut funding prior to the 2012/2013 school year.

Games are played at the middle school fields. Coaches run practices at each middle school on non-game days, Monday through Friday from 3pm-4:30 or 5pm (no practice if school is not in session). Coaches conduct tryouts and form one team per season (7th/8th boys in the fall and 7th/8th girls in the spring). Teams will have up to 16-20 players per team. There will be one coach per team. Most coaches are IPSD 204 school district employees.

Each season is approximately 8 weeks long. District 204 provides transportation to away games. Season will have 12 regular games and a single elimination season end tournament. All games are scheduled to start at 4:15pm or as soon as possible after the away team has arrived. Game cancellations will be determined by home coach/school and communicated to WAA and opposing team as soon as possible. Announcements will be made by school administration to students and via list serve to parents if possible. After 3:00pm, games will be called at the field.

The 2019/2020 fee for participation in this program will be the same as the participation fee charged for all other IPSD 204 middle school sports. All payments are to be made to Wheatland Athletic Associaiton (WAA). WAA will follow IPSD eligibility rules.
